The reason for things, probably not what you think?
Matthew 16:5-12 Now when His disciples had come to the other side, they had forgotten bread. Then Jesus said to them, “Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the Sadducees,” And they reasoned among themselves, saying, “It is because we have taken no bread.” But Jesus, being aware of it, said to them, ”O you of little faith, why do you reason among yourselves because you have brought no bread? “Do you not yet understand or remember the five loaves of the five thousand and how many baskets you took up? “Nor the seven loaves of the four thousand and how many large baskets you took up? “How is it you do not understand that I did not speak to you concerning bread?–but to beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.” Then they understood that He did not tell them to beware of the leaven of the bread, but the doctrine of the Pharisees and Sadducees.
Many Christians look for reasons for things in their lives. The reasons they find are probably not the reasons at all. They reason that some things happen because Jesus is mad about something they did or, did not do, and Jesus wants to put them on the spot for not doing everything just right. They think God is out to get them for every slip up. They forget about all the miracles they have seen, and immediately start to reason, “Why did God let this happen, He must be trying to tell me something?”
When God speaks to us, through His written word, and through the Holy Spirit, it is to give us warning and direction. God is not trying to put us on the spot.
When bad things happen in our life and we start to reason why, we have a tendency to think God is punishing us for some thing we did. But our reasoning is far from what God is trying to say.
The devil comes to steal, kill, and destroy. But Jesus came so we could have more abundant life, and the miracles we see prove that.
When you reason, always know God is the one helping you not hurting you. Hurt, pain, sorrow, and stealing, are the lies that the devil tells, and when we reason they are from God, to direct us, then the devil has his will be done, with out reason.
