Does God believe in what you are fighting for?
John 18:10-11 Then Simon Peter, having a sword, drew it and struck the high priest’s servant, and cut off his right ear. The servant’s name was Malchus. So Jesus said to Peter, ”Put your sword into the sheath. “Shall I not drink the cup which My Father has given Me?”
We as christians, sometimes fight a fight that is not in line with God’s will. We make attempts at taking what we think is worth fighting for, and get out of line with God’s will. Not always what we think is right is in line with God’s will. Peter walked with Jesus and was His disciple, and the Scriptures let us know, Peter had trouble separating what God’s will was over his own. Peter was ready to fight to save Jesus, not realizing that what was about to happen to Jesus was God lining His will up with the world’s, for a time.
God’s will was for Peter to never deny Christ, but Peter’s will got in the way once again, and because of fear of what might happen to him, Peter denied Him, not once but three times.
The Scriptures let us know God’s will. We can see that it is God’s will for us to be well and not sick. The Scriptures let us know God’s will is for us to be able to come to Him, in Jesus name. So much of God’s will is revealed to us in the Scriptures, but we have to keep our will, from keeping us, from being in line with God’s will.
When we fight the good fight of faith, let us be sure we are not working against God. Sometimes our will’s are the biggest problem keeping us from the blessing of God.
God knows best. Ask Him in Jesus name what His will is, when He tells you His will, try and hold the coarse with your tongue. It is what directs your life.
God’s Word is the sword of the spirit. We can speak it , and use it for our weapon of offense. We just need to be sure we use it the right way at the right time, because it is very sharp.
Be sure the fight you are fighting is God’s will. Just ask Him in Jesus name and He will let you know. Then the fight will be to keep your will from getting in your way.
