Why do you want to be an ass?

Numbers 22:28-32 And the Lord opened the mouth of the ass, and she said unto Balaam, “What have I done unto thee, that thou hast smitten me these three times?” And Balaam said unto the ass, “Because thou hast mocked me: I would there were a sword in mine hand, for now would I kill thee!” And the ass said unto Balaam, “Am not I thine ass, upon which thou hast ridden, ever since I was thine, unto this day? Was I ever wont to do so unto thee?” And he said, “Nay.” Then the Lord opened the eyes of Balaam’, and he saw the Angel of the Lord standing in the way, and His sword drawn in His hand; and he bowed down his head, and fell flat on his face. And the Angel of the Lord said unto him, “Wherefore hast thou smitten thine ass these three times? Behold, I went out to withstand thee, because thy way is perverse before Me.

Judges 15:16 And Samson said, “With the jawbone of an ass, Heaps upon heaps, With the jaw bone of an ass have I slain a thousand men!”

John 12:14-15 And Jesus, when he had found a young ass, sat thereon; as it is written, Fear not, daughter of Sion; behold, thy King cometh, sitting on an ass’s colt.

Matthew 11:29-30 “Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. “For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

Have you ever been accused of assuming something? Did that person let you know right away that when you assume you will make an ass out of yourself as well as them. Did you know when you assume you are going on wisdom that the Holy Spirit has given you. You have no reason for your action you just assume you are right, that is why you do it. When we listen to our inner man and follow His leading, to the world we become an ass, and the people that follow our assumption will become an ass as well.

Is being an ass a bad thing? The Scriptures tell us that an ass can see Angels, that an ass will speak for God when directed to. The Bible lets us see that when put in control of the right person, the movement of an ass’s jaw bone will over come God’s enemies by the thousands. The Scriptures tell us that Jesus road on the back of an ass, and it was willing to be His beast of burden, and carry His load.

Do you assume God’s word is true?

Are you willing to tell others what God leads you to say?

Have you accepted Jesus’s burden and yoke, and are you making his enemies His footstool?

Will you stop for Angels, and take a beating until others see them, are you stubborn about what you know is true?

Do you get your jaw bone moving, in praise and prayer, and overcome the evil one?

Are you willing to carry Jesus with you, in you and on you?

You very well could be an ass.

If the world is willing, you can make an ass out of them. What a good thing that would be.
