Why are the scriptures so hard to understand?

Luke 8:9-10 Then His disciples asked Him, saying, “What does this parable mean?” And He said,”To you it has been given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God, but to the rest it is given in parables, that ‘Seeing they may not see, and hearing they may not understand.’

James 1:5-8 If any of you lacks wisdom let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.

We need to know that God’s Word is for God’s people. God’s people will desire God’s will they will want to know all about God, and they will stop at nothing to find out all they can about Him and His Son Jesus.

A lot of times when Jesus was asked a question He would answer with a question. If the person hearing it truly was seeking God’s will in their life, they would pursue the answer to His question. The parables in the Bible are just that, stories which leave you with questions. When you diligently seek out God and His Son, your free will lines up with God’s Will. His Will is for us to diligently study and rightly divide His Word. The scriptures tell us that if any of us lack wisdom and we want it, to ask in faith( believing that we will receive it) God will give it to us.

The Bibles way of teaching us is actually remarkable. Some questions about life are difficult. You may not know the answers to all the questions, but God does, He has every answer to every question we could ever come up with. The answers you have for you, may not always be in the best interest for others.

Each of us is a different part of the body of Christ. Let each of us search out our answers and when we learn to do this, we being God’s children become grounded in the Word. We start a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. We learn to exercise our free will, and search for our answers in God’s Word. We will be more than conquerors on this earth, as God reveals the answers we are seeking.

God is teaching His children with His Word. Jesus would answer a question with a question. When we accept Jesus as our Savior, we become God’s children. God’s Word says, if believers want God’s wisdom, it will come easy.

God knows exactly how to teach us. Use this method of asking questions, on yourself and your children. If you see wrong in a loved ones life, if their will is not inline with God’s. Give them a question to ask themselves. Do not shut them out of your life. Let the answers they get, to their questions, exercise their free will, and come to an understanding of God’s Word.

    You will love the results.
