When people see you, do they see Jesus, or patches?

Ephesians 4:20-24 But you have not so learned Christ, if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus: that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.

Matthew 9:16 ”No one puts a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old garment; for the patch pulls away from the garment, and the tear is made worse.

When you accepted Jesus you were made clean by His shed blood. You became right in God’s sight because of what Christ did for you. You are suppose to put on a new man and do away with the old.

So many Christians want to hang on to the old man, and just use Jesus to patch things, when a hole shows up. You cannot serve both the world and God. When you do, people will see nothing but patches, where you have tried to mend your old man, instead of putting on the new man, and being Christ like as you can.

If you are a Christian let the world see Jesus in the new man you try to be, not the old man with patches. It gives God’s apparel a bad name.
