When does God get glory?
John 15:7-8 ” If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. “By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.
Matthew 15:31 So the multitude marveled when they saw the mute speaking, the maimed made whole, the lame walking, and the blind seeing; and they glorified the God of Israel.
John 17:4-5 ”I have glorified You on the earth. I have finished the work which You have given Me to do. “And now, O Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was.
John 11:39-44 Jesus said, ”Take away the stone.” Martha, the sister of whom was dead, said to Him, “Lord, by this time there is a stench, for he has been dead four days.” Jesus said to her, ”Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?” Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead man was lying. And Jesus lifted up His eyes and said, ”Father, I thank You that You have heard Me. “And I know that you always hear Me, but because of the people who are standing by I said this, that they may believe that You sent Me.” Now when He had said these things, He cried with a loud voice, ”Lazarus, come forth!” And he who had died came out bound hand and foot with grave clothes, and his face was wrapped with cloth. Jesus said to them, ”Loose him, and let him go.”
Hebrews 1:13 But to which of the angels has He ever said; “Sit at My right hand till I make Your enemies Your footstool”?
When we study the scriptures we see that God got all His glory when people where healed, released from demons, rose from the dead, and people believed in His word so much that they stood on faith believing it. God is glorified when good things happen and not bad things. God wants us to love Him because we love Him. He does not want us to love Him because we are forced in any way. If God forced us in a bad way or a good way, to love Him, then are love would be conditional and not unconditional. God loved us unconditionally. He gave us His Son so we could overcome this world. So we could be victorious in this life, by believing in all that He paid the price for. And by faith praying and believing standing on that belief, until we receive the things we believe we received when we prayed. God gets all the glory when we do this, because as we overcome this world in Jesus name then we can go to God and say we love you with out anything forcing us to do so, but just because we do.
God gets no glory when we say things like; “I am so worried about thus and so,” “I am afraid this or that will happen,” “ I do not believe I can do all things,”
“I just can’t do it”, “I have this wrong with me,” “ I’m so sick I do not know if I will ever get better,” “God healed me of this but I still have this wrong with me,” I am sick, tired, afraid, scared, worried, lonely, crazy, fearful, and bad always happens to me. When we talk and we use these words in a our conversation, God gets no glory in them. You give the devil all the praise. Because Christ came and paid the price for all these things and you do not acknowledge the fact that He did. No matter what you might think God’s glory comes in goodness. All things come together for good to those who love the Lord. But God gets glory for the good not the bad. God’s glory comes in the resurrections. God gets no glory from crucifixion. Crucifixion is the devils way of saying I rule can you not see that?Resurrection is God telling the devil “you lose”, My Son sits at My right hand and as the people that believe in His name become a part of His body, and allow Me to conquer His enemies in Jesus name. I will get Glory in each victory.
We need to say, God we believe in Your Son Jesus and all that He has done for us, so much, we will show you by being over comers in this world In Jesus name. And while we are doing all we can to stand and resist the devil in Jesus name, we will give you all the glory because we know You are true, and the victory is ours. When this is your first priority everyday, you will be in line with God’s will and He will get all the glory. And you will be more than a conqueror in Jesus name, in this world.
Do you give God glory? If not, start today.
February 25, 2004 at 10:21 am #18593JoeyKeymasterIt’s a shame that the world shows us that to give, one must have less of something afterward. Or sacrifice something in order to give to someone else. We should give, but isn’t it great to know that by Christians being happy and healthy and blessing others with the out-pouring of gifts that were given to us for no reason other than the fact that God loved us.
Isn’t it great to know that by having a good, fulfilled, and happy life we glorify God. We do this by lining up the will in our life with God’s, not lining it up with what the world would have us.
The World wants to give us a hamburger, when God has a Filet Mignon, with all of the fixings sitting right there for us, and it glorifies him to pass up that hamburger and go for the Filet.
Praise God, and thank you God in Jesus’ Name.
