Is love top on your list of things to do?

John 14:15 ”If you love Me, keep My commandments.

John 14:21 He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.”

John14:23-24 Jesus answered and said to him, ”If any one loves Me he will keep my word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. “He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father’s who sent Me.

1 Corinthians 13:4-8 Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; loves does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away.

1 John 4:18-21 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. We love Him because He first loved us. If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God who he has not seen? And this commandment we have from Him: that he who loves God must love his brother also.

If you have excepted Christ as your savior, your daily desire should be to do God’s commandments. When you do this you show God you love Him. You cannot only say you love God. You must have an action of faith to follow your words. If you just say you love God and there is no action, it is a dead emotion.

Jesus gave us an example of love to follow. There is no excuse to say we do not know how to love. The scriptures clearly state what we must do to show love and if we do not there is no love in us. We become liars instead of lovers. When Christ lives in us love is easy. As we walk in this day to day life and are lined up with God’s commandments, we will find perfect love. We will know we have perfect love when we have no fear. The Scriptures tell us that perfected love cast out all fear. As we line are will up with God’s through His Son, we believe, and our actions are on all the promises God offers. We take every word that is written and live our life by it, then love is perfected and no fear will remain.

When Christians love their family, they need to do it just like Jesus did. He did all He said He was going to do. He never told us one thing that He did not do. His yes was yes and His no was no. Honesty is the biggest part of love action. Jesus has suffered long waiting for us to get our life in line with His. All we can do is the same for the ones we love. God loved us so much He gave His Son for us, to be an example. He gave us His word and He keeps it. When God tells us something we can believe it and act on it with complete confidence. When we love others they should be able to do the same with our words.

We should show our love through actions and not words alone. God has set a perfect standard of love through His Son Jesus, if we follow we cannot go wrong.

Let us take this day, the world calls Valentine’s, and make it a day to begin a love walk with Christ, and the ones we say we love. Let us give our love, a word with meaning. Let us give a gift that remains the same forever, a love that never will change. And with all we give the ones we love, let it have all the actions that should follow a true believer. It is what we should do to be the example to the ones we love.

Have a Happy Valentine Life. Not just a day. Let it start today, if it has not already started.
