How do I rightly divide the word ?

2 Timothy 2:15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Because God tells us to rightly divide the word, means we are also able to wrongly divide it. If we take the time to rightly divide His word we will see God is good! He wants the very best in our lives. In fact IF, and WHEN, we divide His word, and we find that we are lacking, sick, afraid, worrying, or doubting and we can back it with scripture, we divided it wrongly.

When Jesus was tempted by satan, satan wrongly divided the word when he told Him what was written. Jesus corrected him immediately divided the same word satan used on Him, only Jesus did it correctly, and satan fled from Him and then the angels came and ministered to Him. (see Matthew 4: 1-11) It is so important for each of us to know God’s word. When we put it down inside of us and the tempter comes, and we have rightly divided it. We can correct the tempter in what he is telling us.

It also is important to see how closely the tempter divides the word. How he uses it almost to a point of convincing us. We need to be careful and be sure and do our home work. Let us make sure we do not give the devil any place. When we study the Bible ourselves, or with a pastor, or teacher, or friends, make sure you divide the word rightly. When you do, you’ll see, God is good all the time. If you do not see that, you must divide it again until you get it right.

The rightly divided word will always, protect, provide, promote, and support you in every area, as a believer.
