Have you found your treasure yet?
Psalm 119:162 I rejoice at Your word As one who finds great treasure.
Matthew 6:19-21 ”Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; “but lay up yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. “For where your treasure is there your heart will be also.
Proverbs 2:4-6 If you seek her as silver, And search for her as for hidden treasures; Then you will understand the fear of the Lord, And find the knowledge of God. For the Lord gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding;
Matthew 13:44-46 ”Again, the kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and hid; and for joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field. “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking beautiful pearls, “who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had and bought it.
Have you found the treasures of heaven yet? Do you have abundant life with out fear of losing it? Are you walking in divine health? Do you have no fear of anything in this world? Are you afraid to die? Do you feel like your losing this race? Are you living debt free? Is all you have left to do is love all the people you can, and show them how you got to where you are? Is the reason you get out of bed to go to work, for things, or for God?
Have you heard Jesus, and recognized the voice of your Shepherd, and ran to Him and lined yourself up with His will?If you do not have any of these things in your life, you have not found your treasure yet. The Bible tells us Jesus came for our Salvation, for us to have abundant life, and on the cross He bore our sickness and diseases. That is your treasure you are looking for. When you accept Jesus Christ as your Savior all this treasure is yours. You may have satan on your heals lying to you saying it is not so, but guess what? Satan is the father of all lies. Satan’s only weapon is to deceive. And make you think that the gifts you have claimed are not really there. Satan wants to get you to confess fear, doubt, and unbelief. Satan wants you to worry about all the treasures in this world. Satan wants you consumed with the treasures in this world, because if you are, you will never focus on the truth and all the treasures you really have. If satan can convince you of anything then and only then will you have it.
If you can convince yourself of all that Jesus has for you then and only then will you have the true treasures. When you accept Jesus Christ as your Savior, you start a new walk in this life. It is as simple as saying,
“God I believe Your Son Died on the cross for me. I believe His shed blood cleansed me of my sin, and I am saved from this world, and will have eternal life with Him. In Jesus name I ask amen.”
After you have done this, you start to seek out Gods Word to see all your promises. Do not let satan rob you of anything God has provided for you through His Son. Find all the value in God’s treasure, Make it your #1 goal each day. God will give you all the wisdom you need for every area no matter what it is. Put all your trust in Him. If you do all your thoughts should be on His treasures, and not the world’s. The things in this life are so temporary, and while you’re here , and trusting in God everyday for your needs, the Bible tells us He will give us our desires. It must be in that order. God and His Son Jesus first in all we do, then our needs and desires. The Bibles says where our treasure is, is where our hearts will be. It also says we will speak the fullness of our heart’s. Your heart felt confession is everything. Watch what you say.
Search for the treasure God wants you to have, with it comes the wisdom and knowledge and understanding it will take to overcome this world. God’s treasure will put your mind at ease.
If you have found it already make it your life. If you are looking you came to the right place.
February 17, 2004 at 6:27 pm #18558GailParticipantBeaver, it feels like you’re speaking to me today. I have personal debt for items that I don’t treasure or even need. In fact, I’m not sure why I make some of the purchases I do. Which brings me to the 2nd point you made about wanting to get out of bed and go/get to work. I think sometimes I shop just for something to do. Like I said I’m not sure of the reasons for my actions/inaction. ADVICE? It feels to me like the two may go hand in hand.
P.S. If anything I’ve written here seems like a confession to owning or wanting to own this, “I take it back. I take it back. I take it back!”

February 19, 2004 at 7:00 pm #18559BeaverParticipantIt is not wrong to have things. It becomes wrong when things have you. If you allow the desire for a thing to tempt you into turning from God’s word then you will have to make a change. When I shop, now this is my opinion, and you can take it or leave it. I will find something I want or need and my natural man says get it. You want it get it! But my drive is always to put God first. I believe God wants me to have all my Desires, but I also think God wants me to be the best steward of money I can. I will shop for the things I want or need and do my very best to make sure my purchase is the wisest choice for the money. I will see something I like, and give it two or three days before I buy to be sure i am not buying from impulse. The world has impulse buying on every corner. Every registar at the store is loaded with last minute purchase stuff, that you probably will never need. I look at each day as a challenge, to see what when I can beat the devil at his own game each day in Jesus name. I grocery shop the same way, I can tell you the best price that there ever was on every item I use and unless I am out of it I will wait until the price is right. This may sound crazy, but I want to get the most for God’s money that He allows me to use.
