Have you ever stepped out and stood on faith?

Genesis 6:8-9 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord. This is the genealogy of Noah. Noah was a just man, perfect in his generations. Noah walked with God.

Genesis 6:14 “Make yourself an ark of gopherwood; make rooms in the ark,and cover it inside and outside with pitch.

1 Samuel 17:28-29 Now Eliab his oldest brother heard when he spoke to the men; and Eliab’s anger was aroused against David, and he said, “Why did you come down here? And with whom have you left those few sheep in the wilderness? I know your pride and the insolence of your heart, for you have come down to see the battle.” And David said, “What have I done now? Is there not a cause?”

1 Samuel 17:34- But David said to Saul, “Your servant used to keep his father’s sheep, and when a lion or a bear came and took a lamb out of the flock, I went out after it and struck it, and delivered the lamb from its mouth; and when it arose against me, I caught it by its beard, and struck and killed it. “Your servant has killed both lion and bear; and this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, seeing he has defiled the armies of the living God.”

Matthew 14:25-33 Now in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went to them, walking on the sea. And when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, “It is a ghost!” And they cried out for fear. But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying ”Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid.” And Peter answered Him and said, “Lord if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.” So He said ”Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, ”Lord, save me!” And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him. ”O you of little faith why did you doubt?” And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased. Then those who were in the boat came and worshiped Him, saying, “Truly You are the Son of God.”

Have you ever stepped out on a faith? When you walk with God and put your will in line with His will, you are stepping out on faith. You are trusting in God and this world does not understand that. A lot of times when you are standing on faith people believe you are prideful and arrogant. You get persecuted and wrongly accused of such things, because the world does not understand your faith. The world does not know how you, could believe in something so much, that no matter what they say, they cannot talk you out of it.

A lot of times when you step out on faith, in the natural it looks impossible what you are about to do. But when you walk inline with God’s will you see things a lot different than the rest of the world. The glasses you look through are not rose colored they are the glasses that let you see the truth and nothing else. As you step out on faith, you know what God has promised you and if God said it, that is all you need to go on.

The scriptures tell us of great people in the Bible that stood on faith. These people all had one thing in common. They walked with God. They put their will inline with God’s will and God rewarded them for that. That is the difference in great people and others. God wants you to trust in Him and His Son Jesus Christ. As you take this step of faith you are placing your will in line with God’s will. It is faith because it is a promise of God and you do not see it, you cannot feel it, you cannot smell it, you just do it because God’s word says you must. Therefore you do it. You become blessed and people do not know why. People bless you and do not know why they do, but you know why. You walk in abundance and divine health. Your wisdom surpasses all understanding. People come to you for answers and wonder how could you possibly know the things you do when others cannot seem to figure things out.

Stepping out in faith is trusting in God’s promise, no matter what you see, hear, feel or smell, you must believe the promise by faith. And consider not your own body. The faith step is the best one you can take.

Stepping out on faith, in the natural seems scary, but when you learn the promises of God and trust in His word, and find out it works all the time not just some of the time.

People in the old testament stepped out on what God told them. We have a written guide book that we can use for reference over and over again. Our promises from God are in writing. The Bible tells us what to do, we just have to do it. We have a Helper, the Holy Spirit, so when we step out on faith and the cares of this world draw our eyes off the promise He will pick us up. He will catch us if we start to sink in our faith walk.

Do not let people or things keep you from stepping out on faith. Do not let what the world says stop you from stepping out on faith. Line your will up with God’s will and you will see results. Do it before the doctors say we do not know what to do. Before your children go astray. Before your wife decides to leave. Before they repossess your car. Before they foreclose on the house. Before your business goes down.

Step out on faith and start your faith walk, Trust in what God’s words say and get out there. You will be blessed and you will bless others.

    Hi there!

I enjoy your website so much. It seems we are always on the same track as far as scriptures. You help me understand the scriptures better. Please, Renee is having her knee operation on February 4th. I would be so grateful if you would say a prayer for her. It seems I go on your website every 30 minutes to see your answers. Thank you and your family for always helping me get closer to God. I’ve always known my love for God. You just explain everything so I can understand his word. You guys are the best. Thank you so much.

I enjoyed reading (and studying on) this lesson. Because of our in- person conversations, I know what you and Carol mean by “in the the natural”, but do you think it’s worth explaining to those visitors who may not know?

    ‘Love you guys, Gail ❓

“In the natural,” is something that you perceive with one of your five senses, sight, smell, touch, hearing, and tasting. These senses should not direct God’s promise in your life. Do not use your natural senses, when listening to God, at times the senses do not agree with what God is saying. Natural senses are good but you cannot always trust in them. As you can trust in God.

It is my firm belief that I go each day walking on nothing but faith. Many people think that faith is a monumental thing, a thing which makes men build great arks and wrents a sea in two. Rather, let’s examine faith as a day to day necessity.

Take a deep breath. Now exhale. Take another. Exhale. What’s to say that the next breath you take would be devoid of oxygen? Did you ever stop to consider that the air around you might, by some strange means, disappear? What is it that makes you keep breathing, despite the fact that you have no sensory way of telling whether or not the air around you is still there? Let’s apply the same example to God. Pray to God about something that is weighing on you. What tells you that God is handling it? What stops you from worrying about it after you have given it to God? If you are like me, you have prayed about something and doubted whether it would be fulfilled. God knows, and God is in charge. He can take care of the things that trouble us if we have faith in him. If you question God’s plan for us, you must also question the air around you. You’d have to hold your breath quite a while in order to find a machine that could tell you the air is still there for you to breath. Isn’t it easier just breathing normally and trusting that we will be better off breathing normally? It’s the same with God. Have faith, and you will be comforted. He has a plan for you; whether or not you choose to follow it is all a matter of faith.

A final thought to close; a man in our community and friend of our church, Richard Lambert (called Ricky), was struck by a metal beam at his job yesterday. They fear he may be paralyzed, and his young wife and daughter of one year (and new baby forthcoming) are going through a difficult period. I ask everyone on the site to pray for Ricky’s recovery and for the well-being of his family as well.

    Living, He loved me
    Dying, He saved me
Buried, He carried my sins far away
    Rising He justified
    Freely forever
    One day He’s Coming
    Oh Glorious Day!

For if we are faithful to the end, trusting God just as firmly as when we first believed, we will share in all that belongs to Christ –Hebrews, 3:14
