Forgive, forgave, forgiveness, and forgiven; do any of these apply to you?
Matthew 6:14-15 “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
1John 1: 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Forgiveness is a very important part of the gifts we accept, that Jesus has given us. We must forgive each other or we will not be forgiven. It seems kind of harsh for God to say He will not forgive us if we do not forgive others. He just doesn’t know what they did to us, they do not deserve it, so I will just hold what they did to me just a little while longer. If you study the scriptures you will see that if we believe something and confess it, it will be what we say. If we confess our sins and believe we will be forgiven of them all in Jesus name, it is so.
We can not hold unforgiveness and also believe we are forgiven, it is that simple.
When forgiving others, we must be sure to forgive ourselves. The things we hold against ourselves can keep us down and it is not suppose to be like that. There are times we think that everyone is forgiven, but we are not worthy to be forgiven, and that is never the case with believers.
Accept what Jesus is offering, it is a gift waiting to be received. His shed blood covers our sin. Confess your sins to Jesus Christ and be forgiven. Forgive everyone you have anything against. Be sure to forgive yourself, God did when you accepted His Son.
