Does the world have your number?

Romans 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Romans 13:8-11 Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law. For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not bear false witness,” “You shall not covet,” and if there is any other commandment, are all summed up in this saying, namely, “You shall love your neighbor; as yourself.” Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law. And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for our salvation is nearer than we first believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.

This world is monitoring every move you make. It keeps records of everything you buy. Everything you sell, and throw away. This world is all over what you say. The things in the world are establish on spoken desires of peoples hearts. If the world sees or hears a confessed need. Someone in the world is going to try and come up with the answer, and hold it for ransom. What they make will be for sale and at a price you will need to be indebted to them for a time, for that answer. If you want an education degree you must go to a world’s established schools or colleges to maintain it. You could be the smartest person in this world and when you go for a job interview the world wants your degree. It wants to know where you went to school, and if it was a school of high regard then you get the best position. You may be the most ignorant person in the world for the job but because you have the degree you are the person of choice. And guess what the world has your number. The world will take what you know and make it a fortune, and after they kept that carrot out in front of you until you are worn out, and in debt to your ears, then the world owns you.

The world has a demographics system that monitors all you do. When you make a call they know to who. They know just how much you spend in long distance calls, and they know if you would be a good candidate for their profit. They know what you like. What you do not like. Every piece of commercial mail you get has a code on it some where. Each thing you respond to, puts you on a list of like and dislikes. This world has your number and they know what you will buy before you do.

The credit card companies know just what you are going to spend. They know if you are in debt to your ears, when you cannot make a payment. Why do they not stop your credit? They give you more credit at a higher interest rate because they have your number. They know you are a good risk because you do all you can to pay your bills. They raise the rate and let you have at it, because they will get theirs if they keep you in debt long enough. They get theirs first. They have made a profit of interest and you still owe the company store. If you have credit card companies mail you stuff everyday they have your number. If they send you paper checks with your statement they know you. When you use them they know just where you stand. When you use a credit card for each purchase you make the world know just where you are at any given time. The world knows what you will be doing each day. If you would like to find out, take a unexpected trip out of town, use your credit card and see how fast they give you a call to confirm your charges. It would not be a bad thing if the world had your best interest at heart. But the only reason they call is, because they know you are not responsible for fraud charges, they are. The world’s interest is theirs not yours. They make you think they are looking out for you. The world is only interested in themselves.

When you accept Christ as your savior, you are no longer taken with the world’s ideas of success. You come to realize, the things of God do not go with the things of the world. You will come to see that the pursuit of things in this life are not in your best interest. When you put your trust in God through His Son Jesus, then He will give you your desires. When you have your desires and you know they are from God and not from the company you work for, you have the worlds number. It is not a magic trick. God will not counterfeit any thing in this world. You will have to work for it, but God will pave the way. Each day when you get up to go to work, You thank God for the opportunities He makes. You go to work each day for God, you do your best each day for God. You trust God to give you the wisdom each day to be the best you can be. Your trust is in God and not the world’s ways.

When you accept Christ, you accept the truth and it sets you free. You know that when you borrow thirty thousand dollars, you owe thirty thousand. Not just three hundred dollars a month for thirty years. The truth is you owe thirty thousand. The world’s truth is you owe three hundred a month, so you go farther in debt because three hundred looks nothing like the thirty thousand you really owe. As you come to know the truth and it sets you free You have the worlds number.

When you accept Christ, you will begin to see that your interest stop being worldly. You see the truth more and more each day. You will start to get calls from people that say I know your bills have you tied up and I want to help you out. And you can say you must have the wrong number I am debt free. When your commercial mail stops coming because the world does not know who you are and what drives you, you have the worlds number. When you work in a blue uniform and you have more wisdom than the one with the highest degrees, in the biggest office. You have the worlds number, and the number they have for you, they find out it must not be what they thought.

When you accept Christ the world will not know you anymore. When they call what they think is your number, the one they find is a stranger.

Timothy LaHaye, who has done dozens of books on the book of Revelation, is convinced that the “Mark of the beast” described by John in the book is going to be a barcode. Look around your house, in your wallet, in your dresser drawer, on your keychain. Every card, every grocery store savings card, every bank account, everything and anything which contains information has an alphanumeric code attached. LaHaye believes that when John’s foretold Revelation does come to pass, the mark of the beast will be a bar code which contains information from every facet of your life. The mark of the beast will be the key to every earthly thing you desire, enjoy or possess.

I only put this in here because it sprang into the forefront of my brain. As John and the Bible tell us, We shouldn’t watch for signs, as only God knows when the time will come. Still, we as Christians must always be wary of that which tethers us to the world.
