Does God want you to pray for yourself?
Matthew 6:1-15 ”And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Assuredly, I say to you they have their reward. “But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. “And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words. Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you need of before you ask Him.
God wants you to pray for yourself. He wants you to talk to Him through His Son Jesus. He wants you to praise Him, thank Him, make your desires known. God wants you to speak to Him daily, He loves when you speak to Him because it is then you acknowledge He is there in His secret place. The very fact that you mention His name and His Son’s Name, says to Him you believe. When Jesus ascended to sit at the right hand of the Father and you accept Him as your Savior, you are saying you believe Jesus is where He says He is and you can go directly to God in prayer. No matter what you have done, you can not be to good or to bad to start.
With Jesus as our intermediary we can go directly to God. There is no one closer to God than you when you accept His Son. You do not need any man to pray for you. You do not have to be in a church, It can be in any room with a door that you can close, Pray to God in secret and watch Him answer it openly. He hears you every time, He knows your need, and He loves when you speak to Him in prayer.
When you pray speak to Him like you would someone you love with all your heart and soul. Your prayers should not be something that is written and recited everyday, you do not talk to your best friend by reciting what is written down, the same thing everyday, and if you did, after the 4th or 5th day they would know you where not talking to them, but at them and they would know you where not speaking from your heart. God wants you to speak with Him. He does not want any one, other than Jesus between you and Him.
Notice! In the Scriptures it says “But you,” That means you and you alone can speak to God and have Him listen. Pray and talk to God in Jesus name and know He hears and He cares, and He answers. You may have to look at your life and see His answers but you will surely see signs following.
When some one says they will pray for you, tell them thanks, but you will pray for yourself. God loves when you do the talking, in Jesus Name.
