Do you give the devil more credit than he deserves?
Matthew 4:4 But He answered and said, ”It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.”
Matthew 4:7 Jesus said to him, ”It is written again, ‘You shall not tempt the Lord your God.’ “
Matthew 4:10 Then Jesus said to him, ”Away with you, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.’ “
When you start to see the devil as Jesus and God see him you will see him without his sheep skin disguise. The devil will give you all the world’s possession’s if you serve him. And you will know when you have been had when the devil says “if you listen to God, I will take your kingdom from you.” You will see this when you start to trust God and the devil starts to take away, what you think is the most important things in this world.
If satan ever backs a Christian in a corner, that Christian needs to know God’s promises in his or her life and tell satan God’s word and tell him, “you will not threaten me I am God’s child and I will not bough to any of your lies. I will not change my life to get one thing this world has to offer. Because when God gives me something it is mine, but when you satan give me something it is never really mine, so I do not want what you offer.”
We need to see the devil for what he really is. The scriptures tell us he is the father of lies. The devil comes only to steal, kill, and destroy. We also see in the scriptures that Jesus way of resisting the tempter is with the word of God. Well thank God if Jesus defeated the tempter that way so can we. We are suppose to be Christ like in every way we can.
Do not let the devil fill you with fear. Do not let him make you doubt God’s word. Do not let the devil make you worry God will not come through for you. If you have accepted His Son as your Savior, He will always come through. Never let the devil hold sickness over your head and say you know you deserve that because of something you did or did not do. Never let satan hold money over your head saying here is the money you need, if it involves stealing from someone it is not the money you need. If it is money that will control you it is not from God. Never let satan say to you “ you will be sorry if you follow God, He has nothing to offer,” because he lies always. Never! Never! let satan show you Jesus on the cross and say where was your God when His Son died on the cross? Be sure and tell satan that the world crucified Jesus because they did not know Him, But God raised Him up to set at the right hand of the Father and now I have His power through the Holy Spirit and I am here to tell the world who you really are, and make Christ enemies His footstool. Tell satan you loose because I know you by your fruits, no fear, doubt, or worry here. I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me. And with God’s word Through His Son I will place you under my feet, in Jesus Name.
Get God’s Word down inside you, and when the devil shows up you will know what to do every time. You will see him as harmless as he really is.
March 4, 2004 at 1:36 am #18610GailParticipantI believe in giving the devil his due and I DON’T OWE HIM A THING. All I would add here is that the devil never “gives” anything – his “gifts” all have an extremely high price tag in the end.
