Matthew 12:39-42Brief Summary: So many of us see adultery as an act of the flesh. But Jesus does not hesitate to point out that if we have done it in our minds, we are guilty of it and you will need Him to be cleansed of that sin. What goes on in the the flesh realm is very symbolic of what goes on in the spirit realm. When we tell God on sunday how much we love Him and we want to do His will, we praise Him and we give Him all kinds of glory, and then when we believe He is in that building, and when we leave there, no longer in His presence, our speech, our words, change to tell the world the devil how we really feel, and what we really believe. This is not unlike a man or woman when in the presence of their spouse speak all good things of them, but once out of their sight, words that tear down and degrade, and do not support who they say they love, are spoken. The way they truly believe, comes from their mouth and those words lead to adultery. And adultery is grounds for seperation because God will not stand for it, He will not expect you to.
Do you nurture and speak good of the the God you believe in? Or can the world have you speaking ill about Him because your trust in Him is not what it should be? God is all good and He wants you to love Him and Him only, and when you speak words about Him that gives the devil glory, when you blame Him for things that you have done, when you do not see Him and His Son for all that they have done. You become very close to sleeping with the devil and it is the devil’s goal to see you seperated from God. And getting you to start to speak ill of Him is the devils first priority everyday.
Can you identify the devils lie and stay faithful to God with the things you say? After all it is the things you say about His Son that get you close to Him.
Spiritual adultery is the first step to adultery in the flesh, do not let it lead to your divorce from God. Then the devil will get his way.
Just as if someone or something can come between you and your spouse, You wil have to talk about it first? And what you are saying will set the coarse of how things will Go.
When we adulterate we bring something in the relationship that is impure or different that weakens the relationship, and it starts with what we say about those we say, we love.
