Are you listening to God?
Deuteronomy 28:1-3 “Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the Lord your God will set you high above all nations of the earth. “And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the Lord your God: “Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the country.
1 John 4:1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
We as christians need to talk to and hear from God. We can talk to Him in prayer and we hear from Him in our inner knowing. God directs us through our hearts. It is a knowing that we do not always understand, but we believe it so much, we act on it.
We need to be sure before we go and act on everything that we can think up in our minds, that we are acting on a leading that is from God, and not another spirit that has the same ability to lead us if we allow it. When we are led by the spirit, or the voice of God, It will never lead us to say, or react in a way that is not consistent with God’s Word. And God’s Word is our way to know who is doing the talking. When we know God’s promises and His will, then the spirits that will lead us wrongly, (if we allow them to), we can identify them before they lead us astray.
The Scriptures are references for us, and If we rightly divide them, it is then we can tell which spirit is talking to us. When God speaks to us and we believe it is Him doing the talking, then we must be sure by the reference we have to go by.
It is the voice of God, (The inner knowing) that we should use to guide us each day. And if a man comes in and tells you, God told him to tell you to do something, be sure God will let you know he is coming, before he arrives.
God wants you to speak to Him through His Son, that is why Jesus came, so each of us could speak to Him directly through His Son. And God wants to talk to you if you will hearken to His voice.
The devil would like you to hear from him also, and He will talk to you even if it is not your will. The difference in the devil and God is; the devil does not care what your will is, he will do his best to force his will on you, and get you to speak words that will lead you a stray. God will wait for your will, to choose Him, and wait to be asked to step in.
Are you listening to the voice of God? Know for sure, because the devil does not come but for to steal, kill, and destroy, and he is the father of all lies, and he would love for you to be listening to him and thinking it was God doing the talking.
