    Is money evil?

1 Timothy 6:10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

1 Timothy 6:17 Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy.

Matthew 7:24 ”Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock; and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.”

Christians will take some of these scriptures, and twist them to say, money is evil and they will want nothing to do with money. That is the reason they do not want any money. But they will surely be the first in the food line, to get something to eat every time they hunger. They will be first to take a hand out. Most of the money they get is already spent, because the sooner they get rid of it, they believe the evil is gone. Satan sits back and smiles, because he knows that the church is not teaching God’s word on money. Satan knows if Christians find out the truth, it will set them free, when they start to be honest with their money, not only will abundant life come to them, but they will be able to be a (True) blessing to all around them. You can only give what you have.

You can get all the money in the world, and use it to control everyone around you. It can be used as power to change every matter. The love of it or the greed for it allows people to be tempted into evil things to gain it. Those of us that call ourselves Christian, will do our best to look as good as the guy next door. You want the same car, or a better one so you can show off to the neighbor. Young adults will spend thousands of dollars so they can turn heads of their friends. Men and women alike will spend money they do not have, so they look good in the eyes of onlookers. If the things you have for the world to see are yours and not the banks, then you have them, they do not have you. When we become a slave to things, when the things we have get the better portion of our pay checks each week to buy them, guess who has who. It is not wrong to have things. It is wrong if you have gained them the wrong way for the wrong reasons.

If you will be truthful with yourself, and become good stewards of money, you will find that you do not need a lot to build a solid foundation. It never depends on what you make, it only has to do with, what you do with what you get. If you spend money you do not have, it is not truthful. If you take all your money and store it and never bless any one, what kind of blessing are you? When you are truthful with money, it will be the blessing that it is suppose to be. When you say I do not want much just enough for my family to be comfortable, that is such a selfish statement. You as Christians need to be a channel of blessing. You should desire to obtain all the wealth you can get your hands on. If you are believing God for wealth, then the money will be in the hands of ones that will bless others and not stored. If you have thousands and thousands of dollars to bless people with, then you can bless with it. If you do not, you may bless in other ways, but you will not be blessing with money. If you are blind and you attempt to lead the blind you both will end up in the ditch. When you gain your sight and get out of the ditch, you have a lot better chance of getting the other blind guy out of the ditch.

God sent His Son to lead us, and for us to be Christ like, we need to be leaders of others. We can only lead others if we know where we are going.

God’s money will bless others and you will be blessed because you are a channel of blessing. As Christians you need to get this. You can give only what you have, that is why it is more blessed to give than receive. If you are giving, it is because you have. If you are giving what you do not have, you need to find the truth. It is not in you.

God’s word says to give one tenth of your increase. This is a tithe on your increase. This is not to make God rich. It is to see if you trust in the Word of God enough that you will do what His word says to do. It is an act of faith, or trust in God, that He will reward one hundred fold. If you build your house on the rock, if your increase comes from trusting in God and in His Son, the storms of life will not remove it. You have it and you can resist all evil that tries to take it. If you get it the worlds way, there is not much you can do to protect it.

Never trust in money. Not because it is evil, but it can tempt you to do evil to get it, and if your willing to loose your soul for it, if you make any choices against God’s will to keep it or gain it. That is what makes money evil.

Be honest with yourself in every dollar you gain, and every dollar you spend, it will be a blessing for you that God has intended it to have always been.
