Why do some christians act so abnormal?

Matthew 7: 21-23 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord. Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’

We must remember this; a lot of christians that are baby christians are so excited about this understanding, they have come to know about God, they just want the world to know. They are not crazy, they have just found something that has changed their world in the best way ever.

We meet many people in life, some are believers, some are not. Not all people that say they believe in God, do. The Scriptures tell us we will know them by their fruits. The first fruits we should look for; do they believe Jesus Christ is their savior. The demons of this realm know Jesus is God’s Son, but they will not confess that He is their savior. Another fruit we should see is, do they love others?

Do they go out of their way and put their will in line with others? (Aligning your will up with someone else’s is how you show someone you love them. You stop what you are doing and do the will of the one you are showing love to.)

Do they seek to build themselves, while placing others beneath them?

Do they love to hear of your hurts? Some people that do not walk in love will love to hear what a tough time you are having in your life.

Another fruit to look for is the words they say in conversation.

Think of it this way, when you ask your child about anything in their life, and that child has been given every gift to live a victorious life, what response would you want to hear out of them? You would want to hear that their life was abundant in all areas. You would not want to hear any loss, lack, fear, or sickness. And if you did, what words would you use to encourage them? What could you say to make them think better of themselves? What words would build them? You want the very best in their lives and your words should show it. That is a fruit you should look for in a christian that has engaged you in conversation. They should not encourage you to speak doubt and unbelief in your life.

Some believers and church leaders are emotion driven. If you are not on cloud nine when you get to their church, they want you on cloud nine when you leave. That is to keep you coming back. After all, it is there that you feel the best. That good feeling is not something God’s word is based on. God’s word stays the same no matter how you feel. But if you need that particular church to work up that emotion, and depend on them they are sure you will return. If that church is counting on your emotion to build its membership. It will not last, when the truth sets in and your problems are still there. Someone needs to tell you the truth and show you how to live by faith. Let you make real choices when given the truth, and then see what faith is really all about. Feelings and emotions are good only if they are in line with God’s word. When they are not they cannot be counted on to give direction, only the truth can do that.

God’s Word is Jesus Christ and he is all you need. Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, that is your church. If your church is preaching and teaching the truth, that alone should be what keeps you coming back. Because the truth is what sets you free. Many churches that speak in tongues, turn away new believers because the new believers do not have an idea what is going on. Do not misunderstand me, we should be baptized with the Holy Spirit and speak in tongues, it is something we need to grow to and learn about. It is very important . But its importance is not to the point of chasing away new or baby christians. The leaders of every church should be sure that every believer is fed the truth, and that they get what God has for them. But you will need to study to rightly divide the word of truth. Pray without ceasing, and speak what the scriptures say.

Remeber these things and the next believer that speaks to you, they may not seem so abnormal.

I have an experience to share regarding this…the first week of my senior year, I started back to the courses that I take at the college. A person who had come into the program was decked out in what any average joe would call “goth clothes”. Spikes, mesh, extra zippers, you name it. He had it on. Immediately, I did what we are all guilty of (and bad at) doing…I judged him. That was before one morning when he and I sat and had a discussion about Christ. I came to find out that he was a devout Christian. He has his own band that is completely devoted to spreading the word of Jesus Christ, he had been on several mission trips (one to El Salvador) and spent a great deal of his time with his church, doing good works.

The casing of a bullet is made of beautiful gold. Still, it’s intent is to kill. The outside of a coconut is brown and coarse. Its inside is full of sweetness. We can never tell simply by outward appearence what the motives of a person are. We cannot also tell by the way someone professes their faith (or supposed faith) what their relationship with Jesus Christ is like. We have to trust the still small voice to give us guidance and discretion, and we must leave the Judgement to God. Take the time to learn someone’s name and to tell them about your own faith. Both of you may gain a great deal from the time well spent.
