What is faith?
Hebrews 11:1 ” Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
Hebrews 11: 6 “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”
Romans 10:17 “So then faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.”
Faith is an easy thing to talk about, we do it everyday. If we drive a car ,we get in and turn the key to start it, and drive away. Most of us do not have an idea what makes that car work. But by our actions on things other people have told us about the car, we believe it will do just what someone said it would. We have no problem stepping out on what we have been told by people. We will even take that car to the posted speed limit and by faith believe that when we need to slow down the brakes will work. Once again most of us do not know how brakes work. But by faith we use them and do not think twice about it.
Most of us that are employed believe we will get paid on a certain day of the week. We believe it by faith we work all week, some of us two weeks , and some a whole month. We take our employer at his word, and by faith we do what he asked believing we will be paid if we do it.
When it comes to God, we must do the same. Take His word and rightly divide it . Come to an understanding of what He is telling us, and stand on it by faith. Believe in it so much that no one can talk us out of it. If we can take man at his word about cars, jobs, etc…
We can with complete confidence accept what God says and His
Son Jesus Christ says about our salvation, health, needs, and desires. When you come to this understanding of faith in Jesus you will be more than a conqueror in every area of your life.We build are faith by hearing God’s word. The music we listen to, the people we listen to, and the Pastors we listen to .
We need to be sure of the things we are hearing are faithful and faith building. -
