How do I know who to listen to?
Deuteronomy 18:21-22 “And if you say in your heart, ‘How shall we know the word which the Lord has not spoken?’ “when a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the thing does not happen or come to pass, that is the thing which the Lord has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously; you shall not be afraid of him.
There are all different religions and traditions. It is up to us using the Bible as our point of reference to decide on what we will believe. It is what is in our hearts that we believe and speak that will guide our lives. If your church’s religion, or tradition has you practicing a daily ritual and you believe you must do it to be closer to God, the things you believe are what will effect you the most. After all what you believe is what you will speak of, and what you say will direct your life.
You will need to have your Bible with you when you’re teacher is teaching you about God. It is so important that what you are learning, can be backed with God’s written word. The way we know that the Bible is true is, the Prophets that spoke it before hand, those things that have happened. The Bible is complete for our spiritual life’s teaching. If someone teaches the things that you should do and they do not compare to God’s word you will need to let that wisdom go, until a later date. Place it on a spiritual shelf and if those things come to pass, you can check that shelf and see if things match up.
The difference in God and every other religion is when God speaks to people those things will come to pass. No man is perfect and each thing they teach will not always be exact, that is why you need your Bible to be sure you stay in line with God’s will.
When our God speaks you can be sure it is Him, because what He says, will happen.
When we speak a word in the authority of Jesus name, we should see results. You must know that no matter how much you want something, you can not over ride another’s free will. God will not override our free will to obtain His will, so you will have to work with that in mind always.
A lot of people pray, “God make me this or that.’” When in fact God will not make you do anything, His will is for you to take His Sons name and overcome this world, but he will not make you do it. It will have to be your choice.
