What’s wrong with having the knowledge of good and evil?
Genesis 3:9-13 Then the Lord God called to Adam and said to him, “Where are you?” So he said, “I heard Your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself.” And He said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree of which I commanded you that you should not eat?” Then the man said, “The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I ate.” And the Lord God said to the woman, “What is this you have done?” The woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.”
When we know the knowledge of good and evil, that is when fear, and the blame game starts. When we do something evil and we know it, the guilt comes in and we want so much for it to be someone else’s fault. We want to be able to blame someone else for our action. We want someone that can take the heat off of us.
When we do good, we want to stand on the house top and let the world know. We line up with the world and enter every competition, that is to only show we are the best, or to see how we rank with the world’s standard of good. A standard that is so far below God’s standard, that held up together would not show up on the scale to measure against. But the pride takes us over, and we start to rank ourselves above others, and the blame games starts again because, the evil people are in your way.
The knowledge of evil and good divides God’s people, and the fear that comes from it, has us running from God, because we messed up, or running to God because we did something good and God needs to acknowledge us for it . But to God, good is doing His will and you can never be perfect.
Because we have the knowledge of good and evil, God gave us His Son Jesus Christ. We can accept Him as our Savior, no matter how bad we have been, and He will wipe our sins away. When we accept Him we no longer have to be afraid. When we accept Christ as our Savior we become righteous, because the worlds standard to be righteous is never going to be enough to get even close to God.
Stop the blaming, and claim Jesus as your Savior, He is the one you can claim, and He will take the heat off of you and make you righteous before God. If you do not claim Him as your Savior, you can only blame yourself, He is the gift to all of those that will believe.
