Why a net?

Matthew 13:47-49 ”Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a dragnet that was cast into the sea and gathered some of every kind, “which when it was full, they drew to shore; and they sat down and gathered the good into the vessels, but threw the bad away.

Why a net? Why not a hook, or gun, or arrow, or something that will not allow you to get away?

The Net will draw you close, get your attention, without harm, and allow the ones that have chosen evil over good to be put back without harm from God. The devil will have enough harm waiting for you when the devil is done with you.

If you have chosen good over evil, the net is to be sure you are not harmed. God is good to those that love Him and a rewarder of those that diligently seek Him. God will draw us close, without tricks, lures, or false leading, and allow the choice to be ours whether we want to stay or not. The choice is ours. That is why He uses a net.
