Is it a wolf or a sheep?
Matthew 7:15-20 ” Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. “You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? “Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. “A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. “Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. “Therefore by their fruits you will know them.
Matthew 10:16 ”Behold I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves. “But beware of men, for they will deliver you up to councils and scourge you in their synagogues.
1 John 2:3-6 Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. He who says, “I know Him” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.
Jesus tells us in the scriptures we will be as sheep among wolves. The scriptures also tell us how to tell one from the other. If you have a person tell you they are Christian, but have no fruits to show their walk with Christ, you need to be as wise as a serpent. Talk with them, listen to what they say. You do not need to judge them, but you will need to decide, are they for the flock of sheep or are they seeking to just make a living off them. There are people that go to church every Sunday but their motive is to feed off the sheep not be one of the sheep. These people are always looking for something for nothing. They prey on hand outs. They look for weak sheep so they can devour them. They call themselves Christians but they enjoy sin, they enjoy to hear your sin, they love to know you are as bad as they are. Wolves that act just like sheep so they can dwell among God’s children and feed off of their good nature, need to be identified, pointed out so the other sheep know to be wary of them.
After the wolfs have been identified, then you will be able to keep an eye on them. Keep the wolf from getting close to you or your loved ones. Treat them as gentle as doves, but be wise enough to know them. We are God’s children when we accept Christ as our Savior, and walk with Him. We are not God’s children if we do not do the walk and the talk both. When people repent and become saved, they should be trying to be more Christ like everyday, not become worst than when they started. Beware of the wolf he is disguised as a sheep but you will know him by his fruit. The wolf can be under cover but you will know him by the fruits of his mouth and his fruits of actions. The sinners in the world tell you they are sinners and you know them. It is the wolves that call themselves sheep and that are really not, are the ones you must watch out for.
Just because someone goes to church does not mean they are God’s children.
Just because they say Lord, Lord, does not mean they are Christian.
They must accept Christ as their savior and then walk like Him the best they can.
