What is on your plate today to feed your spirit?
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John 1:14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
John 6:47-48 ”Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life. I am the bread of life.”
1 John 2:15-17 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life— is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.
Proverbs 26:11 As a dog returns to his own vomit, So a fool repeats his folly.
Romans 10:17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
What are you feeding your spirit man? What is your daily desire? Is it worldly? Faith comes by hearing. What are you saying everyday? When you speak you are hearing your belief.
Is your every day speech all about football, baseball, hockey, and every sport known to man? Is every conversation you have, about the next concert you will see, or the latest group that entertains? What you are feeding yourself with is what you will become. Sports are not evil but if they consume your every thought and draw your eyes off of God, then you have a big problem. Jesus is the bread of life, His words are food for believers. You must know His words will feed your spirit. If you love sports and line your will up with them, it does not build you one inch. In fact to love sports cost you in everyway. If you follow a team, and that team wins every game that they ever play, you can boast, but you do not get one dime for it. It cost you and after you are done boasting you are still empty. And if they lose you do not even get to boast and you are still empty. You can like sports but if you love them, (Line up all your thoughts and confessions) you’re eating the wrong food, you do not need a plate at all. The Bible tells us that dogs do not know what to eat, and they return to their own vomit. You can get that off the ground, no plate is needed. For all the spiritual food you get out of sports, and entertainers, you might as well watch the cow jump over the moon.
If what we talk about everyday is the latest singer or the best band, does it feed us? It more than likely cost you a large amount of money to pursue. It is not wrong to like entertainment. But if you love it (Line up all your thoughts and confessions) you’re eating the wrong food. You need to build yourself spiritually everday. What you say and do everyday is what you have faith for. If you are speaking the wrong things and your thoughts are on the world, than what you are after is not feeding you. You will know. Just listen to what you are saying. You can not be fed with worldly things. They constantly take away. The world’s ways take. You as believers are to walk in this world and not love it. Love is; putting your will in line with anothers, and doing what they want or say. Line up with God and have your plate filled with the bread of life.
Let us put it in a small child’s understanding.
Hey diddle, diddle the cat and the fiddle, the cow jumps over the moon. The little dog laughed to see such a sport, and the dish ran away with the spoon.
The understanding of this child’s nusery ryhme is, Cool cats do alot of entertaining, Dogs like to be feed by concerts and sports, there is no need for a dish and a spoon because there is no food being served that can build your spirit. When we become child like in Christ, what we have heard from children for years is brought to light.
Get your spiritual plate filled with Jesus that is God’s Word that came to us. He is the Bread for a believer’s life, on this earth. Do not let the dish and the spoon be without use, or they will run off.
