Do you hear God’s word and do it? Or do you just hear it?
James 1:22-24 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourself. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was.
John 10:10 ”The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
Do you hear God’s word and do it? There are a lot people today that call themselves Christians that hear God’s word every sunday, and do not do any of it all week long. There are some that say they believe what God’s word says from Genesis to Revelation. But will take out the parts that do not fit their life.
God’s word is true, and has withstood the test of time. It has not past away and has not changed one bit. But it is for the hearers and doers. If you will take God’s word and use it in your life, you will see. God’s word says Jesus saved you from your sin and with His Stripes you are healed, and that he came so that you could have an abundant life. Why are you doing anything other than that. When different things happen in you’re lives you are so quick to change God’s word to fit your life. If you become sick or have the symptom of a illness, right away you think it is God directing you. God’s word does not say He will make you sick for any reason. But you will try to change the word so it fits your life. If someone dies of a illness, disease, old age, or by an accident, you immediately Start to change God’s word to fit your situation. God had that person pass away for a reason, He had a purpose in it. He may use it for His purpose but, the thief came to steal, kill and destroy. Your broken heart is from the devil. Do not let him steal your joy. Jesus said He came so we would have life more abundantly. When you hear that, what makes you think because the thief stole from you, that God’s word must not be true and you need to change it.
If you are a true believer you will know God’s word stays the same no matter what happens in you life. The only thing that can change is you. God cannot change. He will always be the same. If it is written in the Bible it is not going to change. People will change with the wind but God’s word will never change. If you pray for healing for someone you must stand on that healing with your faith, until they are healed. If they do not get their healing, you cannot change God’s word to make it fit your life. If you could do this when someone dies without being saved you would have to say that is God’s will, and the scriptures say that is absolutely not true. You would have to say that God wanted Adam and Eve to eat from the forbidden tree. Once again absolutely not true. If someone does not get healed, do not change God’s word and say it was His will.
When you are a hearer and a doer of the word. You will need to stand in faith when you pray. You will need to rightly divide the word and come to an understanding of it. You could be missing the meaning of God’s word by a mile and when things do not go as you figured they would, you start to change what the word says. You immediately say, well that must not mean what it says because it did not work. When what you should be saying, I missed something. Let me study that more. When you pray for a healing, stand on that very first prayer, believing you received it when you prayed, and thanking God for it everyday. Do not let the symptoms of the sickness talk you out of your healing. Do not let the thief rob you of it by, making you doubt your prayer. Look to what the unchanging word says about healing, and prayer, and faith. Come to a full understanding of God’s word and stand on it with all you have.
When you hear God’s word and do it. You will see that it works every time. The things that are written in the Bible still happen today. They might have never happen to you, but that does not mean they do not still happen today.
Maybe, just maybe you are a hearer only and not a doer also.
