What has drawn your eyes off God and His Son Jesus Christ?

Matthew 14:25-33 Now in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went to them, walking on the sea. And when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, “It is a ghost!” And they cried out for fear. But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying ”Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid.” And Peter answered Him and said, “Lord if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.” So He said ”Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, ”Lord, save me!” And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him. ”O you of little faith why did you doubt?” And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased. Then those who were in the boat came and worshiped Him, saying, “Truly You are the Son of God.”

As we go through this life, we have up and down days. None of us are perfect. That is why Jesus came to this earth. God knows that we do not have a chance of winning on this earth without supernatural help.

When we look at this scripture, that tells us of Jesus walking on the water; It gives us a message. We need to notice that, Peter asked if he could walk on the water, and come to Jesus who was on the water. Jesus told him “come.” He gave Peter the authority to walk on the water. I do not know about you, but I have never walked on water. Peter got out of the boat and started toward Jesus, and when Peter took he’s eyes off of Jesus, it says he started to sink. This is another thing to make note of, because you do not start to sink. Either you are on the water or you are in the water. This scripture says he started to sink. Peter was high and dry at first, and then the winds came and Peter turned and looked at the wind and was afraid. Even though Jesus told him to come, Peter took his eyes off of Jesus, and became afraid. Peter did this with Jesus in his sight.

It is so important to keep our thoughts and eyes on God and His Son Jesus. This world and the things in it will do it’s best to draw our attention away from what is true.

We see the rest of the world getting by, and they do not seem to be following the scriptures. I will tell you this; satan’s works look just like the way to go. Why not ? Everyone else is doing it. The gang is all there. This is the time to watch out with the most diligence. Keep your eyes on the prize. If the crowd is around, what you know to be the truth, it is okay to be with the crowd. If not, you better remember the truth and turn back toward it.

It is so good to know that when we mess up and get our eyes off Jesus; He will reach out and help us. When we turn back. Jesus does not judge our mistakes. He leaves all judgment to God. He is the Way the Truth and the Light , and He came so we could have life more abundant.

Do not let the storms in this life make you afraid. Do not let things in this world bring you down. Do not let any thing draw your attention away from the truth. If it does be sure you know you can turn back and be saved.
