    Now what about this? My natural self says you don’t want to encourage kids to not study and think God will get them through with good grades. Part of me knows that even if Joey didn’t study for the test, he knew the material and applied it. But I also believe that God answers our prayers!

    Anyway, Studying plus prayer is a dynamic duo. Congratulations, Joey!

    Your response makes so much sense – common and spiritual. I was Blaming myself rather than looking at the wonderful challenge I have to always live up to God’s best purpose. Thanks for the drivimg lesson. Love

    Thanks, you guys. I appreciate the definitions, examples and understanding. It’s ironic – not, really, we know why it happens – that you started with the division of the Bible into Old and New Testaments. Even as a small child, I thought the New Testament God was a kinder, gentler One. When Alicia was born I surmised that maybe becoming a parent mellowed Him!!!!

    Thank you for your time and thoughtfulness. The answers have given me spiritual food. :lol:

    Beaver, it feels like you’re speaking to me today. I have personal debt for items that I don’t treasure or even need. In fact, I’m not sure why I make some of the purchases I do. Which brings me to the 2nd point you made about wanting to get out of bed and go/get to work. I think sometimes I shop just for something to do. Like I said I’m not sure of the reasons for my actions/inaction. ADVICE? It feels to me like the two may go hand in hand.

    P.S. If anything I’ve written here seems like a confession to owning or wanting to own this, “I take it back. I take it back. I take it back!”

    Beautifully written, Carol. And I am going to your verses to read more today.

    You wrote believe in Him, Trust in Him and I’d like to add (since I’ve so recently learned it from this ministry) Confess it ONLY to be so.

    Thanks, Guys, for the reminder. The merchandising world is really satan’s assistant in ths. Buy candy, send cards, send flowers, buy presents……..and now (which is different from when I was a kid) Valentine’s decorations are going up in stores before the Christmas ones come down.,etc……

    I enjoyed reading (and studying on) this lesson. Because of our in- person conversations, I know what you and Carol mean by “in the the natural”, but do you think it’s worth explaining to those visitors who may not know?
