GailParticipant
Beaver, What a thoughtful (not to mention clever) answer to Katherine’s excellent question. I wouldn’t be surprised if Joyce Meyers or someone like her borrows it for their radio talk one day!
GailParticipantSo in this circumstance, it’s better to give than receive only after you have received?

GailParticipantInspirational! This is a real life one of those stories with so many layers – profound in its simplicity. A real lesson. Thank you
GailParticipantI think one (of the many) wonders in the Bible – be they actual event or parable – is that they are so complex in their simplicity. I often read something I’ve seen to say one thing for a while and, then suddenly there’s another layer and more TRUTH to be learned . Sometimes my prayer is “Take my blinders off and let me see the Truth You’ve already given to me”.

GailParticipantI read an article (or saw an Oprah show) about abused small children. According to this, if given a choice, the abused child would cry to be returned to the abusing parent …….until they knew there was a different way to live. Being ignorant of how other families functioned, they thought that that was the way life is. It was all they knew.
So, it is wonderful to know the difference and to be allowed to choose in Jesus’ name. AMEN
GailParticipantThe scripture is from Ephesians 6
GailParticipantYAHOO! God’s blessings on your performances, your audience and ATRH.
Break a leg!GailParticipantHow did you do that? I have your concordance!
Seriously, thanks, I wanted to pull the whole story together.
GailParticipant“then the disciples remembered it is written ‘The zeal for your house has eaten me up'”. Do you know where that is written?
GailParticipantI’m so glad you wrote about this. I have concern about the care I take (or don’t take) of my body. I overfeed it, undernourish it and underexercise it. I do however try to use it for God’s purposes and to live the way he wants of my own free will. And I love Him. Any thoughts?
GailParticipantThis, like so many others, is a time when you have given me a new way to view things!
Alice Walker(she wrote “The Color Purple”) has a new book out. I love its tiltle.. “And the Words just Traveled Down My Arm”.
I think you can identify with that, can’t you? ‘Bet these words just traveled down your arm from the Holy Spirit to us thru this website.
Thanks to you and ..Praise you and thank you Heavenly Father
GailParticipantYou know, to me, this is where free will is a definite advantage (One of many!)
Have you ever gone on a weight loss diet and suddenly you want a bowl of ice cream more than you ever wanted one in your life? That’s because you told yourself you can’t have it! Tell yourself you can have it, but choose not to and the control is back to you.
God said not to eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. The devil said It’s gooood! Today I think temptation is easier to resist because we don’t have to choose; we are free to choose. And the choice is so simple once you understand it.
“Hope this makes a little sense – I was having a hard time time putting into words what I was thinking.
GailParticipantAmen! Boogie on!!
