At the age of 18 I had set out to find out if what the Bible had to say was true. I sought the truth in the privacy of my home and studied the word to find out the reality of it. I was going to prove it to my self if I was going to tell another about it.

Finding the Truth to be in God’s Word I was a bold as a lion. I alone myself was going to teach the world who God was. I was going to be His best defense. I was going to do God proud. If any one was to speak out against His Word I was there in His defense, ready to argue His point. I just knew I was right, I had proved Him in my life.

After hitting the wall of family and friends, and being called fanatical. I went to God in ernest prayer, "God this is not working. It is as if turning off the light before walking into a room, instead of bringing it with you." What was I to do? Should I keep fighting with everyone? If so I will, because I know how real you are, I have proven your Word to be true in my life." Tell me God in your Son’s name I am asking."

God’s answer to me was simple and to the point. "Be an example for me."

"But God that seems to easy." Your Son went through hell for me should I not have more than that as my responsibility?

God’s answer, "Jesus did it so you would not have to, and a life lived through faith in His name should be an example, and a living testimony of it."

It was not a hard pill to swallow. I set out that day and told my wife exactly what God had told me. "All I ask is that you be an example."

After raising four boys to adulthood and a marriage of bliss, it has been truly devine to be an example for God and His Son. To come to an knowing of what He wants from me has led us to be more than conquerors.

Having four sons of my own, they are always ready to defend me against anyone that may speak out against me. Sometimes I am misunderstood as I give direction in truth, and my sons stand ready to fight on my behalf, and in my defense, and I tell them I don’t need defending I need examples, and I now I understand.

Be an example!
