Brief Summary; The word suffer means to allow or pemit, We can say allow or permit in the place of suffer in each scripture we read, and it fits perfectly. We can not say pain, sorrow, sickness and disease in place of suffer. Many of us will say we suffer for Christ when we have pain or sickness, after all, we can suffer all kinds of pain and suffering for Christ, because He did it for us. The only thing is, Christ suffered(allowed or permited) the cross so that we would not have to. With His stripes we were healed. Jesus died so that we may live and, God raised Him from the dead so we could, have abundant life believing in Him. You can not allow or permit anything in your life that will pay a price for something that has been paid for already.

When we say we believe in Jesus and accept Him as our Savior, the only suffering( Allowing or permiting) that we should stand for is persecution for being a believer. If you think you are to allow or permit sickness and disease in your life and you’re doing it in Jesus name, you are allowing or permitting something that Jesus has already suffered for, and He did it so you would not have to.

Suffering ( allowing or permiting) is what Jesus did for us. The pain and humiliaton that came from His crucifixion are what He allowed or permited. He said Himself at any time He could call 12 legions of angels to destroy anyone that touched Him. He suffered( allowed or permited) it to happened because, He lined His will up with God’s will, which was inline with the world’s. At any time He could have called the angels and it would have been stopped. He chose to suffer(allow or permit) it, because He knew what victory would come from it.

When you suffer for being a Christian, you will allow or permit persecution, from those that do not believe. That is the way you suffer for Christ, Not with sickness and disease.

    Suffer means; allow or permit.
